Dawson (born May 9, 1979)[3] is an American producer and actress. In 1995 she
made her feature film debut in the independent drama Kids. Her subsequent film
roles include He Got Game (1998), Josie and the Pussycats (2001), Men in Black
II (2002), Rent (2005), Sin City (2005), Clerks II (2006), Death Proof (2007),
Seven Pounds (2008), Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
(2010), Unstoppable (2010), Zookeeper (2011), Trance (2013), Top Five (2014)
and Zombieland: Double Tap (2019). Dawson is also a voiceover for Warner
Bros./DC Comics as well as ViacomCBS Nickelodeon's Nickelodeon unit. For her
performance in Rent, Dawson was awarded the Satellite Award in Best Supporting
Actress Motion Picture. And for Top Five, Dawson was nominated for the Critics
Choice Movie Award for the category of Best actress in Comedy. Dawson was born
on May 9, 1979 in New York City. Isabel Celeste is her mother and is of
Afro-Cuban origin. Rosario was 16 at the time Isabel was born. Her mother,
Isabel Celeste, never got married to Patrick C. Harris. When Rosario was one
year old, her mother was married to Greg Dawson, a construction worker. Dawson
is four years older than Clay. Clay is Dawson’s half-brother. Dawson is also
famous for having several characters in comic book adaptations.These include
Gail in Sin City (2005) and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014), Claire Temple
in five of the series by Marvel/Netflix (2015-2018) and acting as Diana
Prince/Wonder Woman in the DC Animated Movie Universe and Space Jam: A New
Legacy as well as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in The Lego Batman Movie. In 2020, she
was the voice of Ahsoka Tano in the second season of The Mandalorian, and is
scheduled to appear in the forthcoming Disney+ original series Ahsoka. She will
also be appearing in Young Rock, an autobiographical comedy produced by Dwayne
John that will air in 2021.
