Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright (born 17 February 1991) is an English model, actress as well as a director and activist. Wright is most famous for her role in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She was in the role for 10 years before stepping into Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Wright was seen in several independent films after the show. These films were not well-received. In 2013 she made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov’s The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also earned a bachelor's degree in filmmaking at the University of the Arts London. In 2012, Wright founded BonBonLumiere and began making short films. Her first film was directed by her that was a coming-of-age-drama Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at the Cannes Film Festival to great reviews. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016), with Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both included emotion and landscape. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She has also directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright is an ambassador of Greenpeace, Lumos and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
